I have always, ever since I can remember, loved stories. My mother—old enough to be my grandmother—always told the best stories, and children would crowd around her for hours as she told heroic tales of Sikh history, the Bible, magical fairytales, and hilarious shenanigans of her childhood with my father, way back in the 1930’s, and mind-boggling war and hardship of the 1940’s. I always felt lucky to have her all to myself every night, and would demand ‘just one more story’ each time she would try to fall asleep. When I left for India and boarding school at six, I found myself suddenly cut off from stories and, though the place itself was fertile ground for imagination, eventually, (mostly because of math ruining morale) I had no choice but to turn to books. It was then that I discovered my love for horror novels, where absolutely anything and everything was possible, and my love of writing was born. Now I live in New Mexico and Punjab, India with my husband, two daughters, and various extended relatives and animals. Grateful for the awesome opportunities in Indie Publishing today, I’m the happy author of The Infernal Guard series, a YA urban fantasy adventure full of monsters, foul-mouthed warriors, gore and mayhem that spans across countries and dimensions. An historical fiction novel that follows my friends and relatives true stories of India’s tragic 1947 Partition, Exiled To Freedom, a zombie tale set in America’s empty and mysterious vast open spaces, In the Heart of Babylon, and a modern retelling of a favorite classic, Dracula Retold. When I’m not writing, you can usually find me lost in a great book, or drawing to music. Life is a beautiful thing.
